Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technologist

Location: Lincoln, Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Days, 3x12 (6a-6:30p)

Job Description: A critical access hospital is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) for a temporary assignment. The ideal candidate must have graduated from an approved program and possess the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiology tests, including gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures.
• Conduct Blood Bank testing.
• Ensure compliance with Covid regulations, including proper use of PPE and working in isolation rooms.
• Multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Work holidays as required, on a rotating basis.
• Provide phlebotomy services as part of routine duties.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Graduation from an approved MT or MLT program.
• Proficient in phlebotomy techniques.
• Experience in microbiology preferred; essential microbiology tasks must be performed.
• No call required, but must be flexible to fill in for shifts as needed.
