Apartments Live-In Assistant

Apartment Live-In Assistants (ALAs) strive to promote an inclusive living and learning environment for students living on-campus at the University of Wyoming. ALAs are responsible for staffing the front desk, assisting with administrative tasks, helping residents with keys/access, sorting mail, providing exceptional customer service, performing health and safety checks, serving on-call rotations, and other duties as assigned.

Essential duties and responsibilities include staffing the main customer service desk in the Apartments Community Center, answering questions from residents, providing guidance/directions, and assisting with the safety and security of the community. They also assist with mail and package delivery, perform health and safety checks, serve on week long on-call rotations, assist with various administrative, facility, and operational tasks within the building, assist residents and staff with key access, and promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. They must also review, understand, and uphold all items outlined in the Apartment & Residence Hall Policies & Procedures, and the Student Code of Conduct.

Competencies include adaptability, ability to learn, integrity, service orientation, work standards, and technical/professional knowledge.

Minimum qualifications include maintaining a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 throughout employment as a Desk Assistant, being enrolled as a full-time student, completing and passing a criminal background check, having a positive financial, academic, and student conduct status with Housing, Dining, and Residence Life and the University of Wyoming, being available for training sessions, desk scheduling, and monthly staff meetings, and being a strong team player willing to cover/trade shifts as needed and support the overall mission of the residential community.

Desired qualifications include previous desk assistant or resident assistant experience.
