Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for patients recovering from surgical, cardiac, or endoscopic procedures. Ensures patient safety, stability, and comfort during the immediate post-procedure period.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition regularly to monitor vital signs and recovery status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth recovery.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies and stabilize patients as needed.
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid CA RN license and valid ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU or perioperative nursing.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work 3x12 hour shifts from 9:30 to 22:00, with flexibility for float to ICU.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant hospital and state regulations.
