Gallery Educator, University Audiences The Blanton Museum of Art on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin is currently recruiting a small team of experienced teachers to create and facilitate learning experiences for UT students that feature Blanton exhibitions and collections. The Blanton has established an active teaching program that attracts approximately 15,000 university students from a wide range of academic disciplines. While the Blanton team works to recruit permanent educational leadership after recent staff transitions, a new cohort of part-time educators will serve the needs of faculty and students teaching for the upcoming academic year. This position requires intellectual and social flexibility, an ability to warmly welcome and engage students who may have limited prior experience of museums, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Creative thinking, positive attitude, and an understanding of the power of art are essential to success in this work. Graduate students in the arts and humanities, education, or related disciplines currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin may apply for this position. Health benefits and a Tuition Reduction Benefit (TRB) of 9 credit hours will be offered as part of your compensation for this Graduate Research Assistant position. After being assigned a group visit by the Manager of Group Visits, review course syllabi and discuss goals for class visits directly with the course leader. Design and facilitate in-gallery interactive, object-based learning experiences that respond to course goals. Contribute to the development of university teaching reports for Blanton and UT senior leadership and external institutional lenders. Other duties as assigned. MA in Art History or other humanities discipline Teaching experience with college students Must be a current UT Austin graduate student in good standing enrolled in 9 credits for the fall and spring semesters PhD or ABD in a humanities discipline Demonstrated interdisciplinary commitments Experience in museum or other informal educational settings $15,840 - $20,160 depending on qualifications Standard office environment Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation May walk and stand for long periods Appointment is for 20 hours per week from 8/16/26 until 5/15/27 Must be available Tuesday through Friday between 10am-5pm for in-gallery teaching Some flexibility in schedule, depending on the demand for museum visits Resume/CV Letter of interest 3 professional references with their contact information including email address; at least one reference should be from a supervisor The University of Texas at Austin Students
