Senior Estimator

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced construction professional to support the planning and pricing of upcoming work. This position will be responsible for developing project costs, reviewing available information, and helping establish pricing that aligns with project requirements and company objectives. The ideal candidate understands construction operations and can turn project information into practical cost expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pricing projects from initial review through bid completion.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, bid documents, and other available project information.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overall project cost projections.
• Determine the resources and construction activities needed to complete assigned work.
• Review subcontractor and supplier pricing and incorporate appropriate costs into estimates.
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal personnel regarding project scope and pricing.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other project-related discussions as needed.
• Identify unclear scope, missing information, exclusions, and potential cost concerns.
• Prepare estimates, bid documentation, proposals, and supporting information.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, pricing information, and bid activity.
• Assist with transferring project information to the appropriate team once work is awarded.
• Monitor upcoming opportunities and support the overall estimating workload.
• Perform additional estimating and project-related responsibilities as needed.

Required Background

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, construction, skilled trades, or a related field.
• Ability to understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Working knowledge of construction processes, materials, labor requirements, and project costs.
• Experience developing detailed project pricing and cost projections.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities while meeting bid deadlines.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills with both internal and external contacts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with estimating, project management, or related construction software.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Education & Experience
An associate degree or related technical education is preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in construction estimating, field operations, or the skilled trades.

Work Setting
This is primarily an office-based position with regular interaction with project teams, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Periodic travel to project locations, meetings, or site visits may be required.
