Radiologic Technologist - Part Time

Job Description Summary The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to examine and treat patients at UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care centers. The RT performs imaging services, applies prescribed ionizing radiation, analyzes x‑ray results, and reports findings to providers. Additional duties include administrative support for efficient center operations. What You’ll Do for Our Patients Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to deliver patient care, organization, and communication. Use professional judgment to provide imaging services across all age groups. What To Expect in a Day Perform teleradiology reads for all imaging studies. Work varies; tasks include x‑ray acquisition, patient positioning, and safety measures. No fluoroscopy, operating room cases, unit portables, or on‑call/overnight shifts. Job Requirements Education High School Diploma required. Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required. Work Experience Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Licenses/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required if applicable. Essential Functions Provide x‑ray services for patients of all ages, ensuring proper positioning and radiation protection. Patient Preparation and Rooming: Conduct interviews to verify patient information and record medical history. Perform vital sign checks and conduct point‑of‑care tests (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG). Administrative: Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files. Perform daily equipment calibration and maintain QA/QC logs. Report equipment breakdowns and submit repair tickets. Medical Team Support: Collaborate with providers to determine optimal imaging views. Support clinic operations for smooth center functioning. Patient Care: Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and answer questions. Knowledge Understanding of x‑ray procedures and protocols. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology for patient movement and positioning. Understanding of radiology equipment and safety hazards. Skills Accurate patient positioning for imaging procedures. Identify and report equipment problems. Follow infection control and radiological safety procedures. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay with monthly incentive based on performance metrics.
