Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit role requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• 14-bed adult med/cardiac unit treating CHF, post-cath/pacemaker, and COPD patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with 1-2 admissions per day
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, 3 days per week
• On-call required if needed, approximately 1 shift per pay period
• 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• 2+ years of PCU experience required
• 1 year of nursing experience minimum
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI-A certification required

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
• Perform patient assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for complex medical-surgical and cardiac patients
• Conduct bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Engage in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and professional growth opportunities
• Opportunities available for growth into charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical ladder roles
