Direct Support Professional

We wish to recruit a full time Direct Support Professional (40 hours a week; Monday thru Friday) to provide support to a group of 4 adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for a meaningful day program. The position is on location at Ellicott City, MD. Driving minivans to community activities is part of the job requirement where they will drive along other DSPs and their clients. The activities will be assigned by the supervisor . The DSP will help the person build everyday life skills, become more independent, and take part in activities in the community. The DSP will also use positive behavior support techniques to help the person succeed while treating them with respect, dignity, and understanding. As for the work environment, services are provided throughout the community. Punctuality is required; so is the requirement of passing a criminal background check without any incidence and active CPR, FA, AED certifications. The applicant MUST HAVE 2 years of DAY PROGRAM EXPERIENCE WITH AUTISTIC ADULTS and must be currently employed and looking for better opportunities. #J-18808-Ljbffr Southern Arkansas University
