About the Position

We are seeking a Locums Psychiatric Clinic Lead Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide behavioral health care through telehealth across New York. This role provides psychiatric assessment, medication management, behavioral health consultation, and clinical leadership in collaboration with primary care providers and an interdisciplinary care team.

Candidates with Geriatric, Primary Care, or Internal Medicine experience are encouraged to apply.

Compensation : $75-$95 Per hour

Position Highlights

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Hours : 40 hours per week

• Setting: Telehealth

• In-Person: Must be available to come onsite for special cases as needed

• Patient Population: Adult/Geriatric

• Bilingual: Preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment recommendations.

• Provide behavioral health consultation to care managers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams.

• Manage psychiatric medications and recommend treatment adjustments based on clinical needs and evidence-based guidelines.

• Provide psychopharmacology, brief psychotherapy, cognitive/behavioral interventions, psychoeducation, advocacy, and emotional support.

• Monitor mental status, treatment effectiveness, and patient outcomes; modify interventions as appropriate.

• Provide telephone consultation for complex or urgent behavioral health cases.

• Collaborate with primary care providers and community providers to coordinate patient care and communicate treatment plans.

• Provide education and in-service training to primary care staff regarding behavioral health conditions and treatment.

• Support multidisciplinary care planning and promote integrated behavioral and primary care services.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and comply with applicable clinical, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required

• Graduate-level specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing required

• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) board certification required

• Active, unrestricted New York RN and NP license

• Current DEA registration and New York prescribing privileges

• Minimum of 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred

• Psychiatric prescribing experience preferred

• Experience with geriatric patients preferred
