Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist – New York, NY

Description

We are seeking a Locum Tenens Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to provide full-time psychiatric care in New York, NY. The psychiatrist will work on a Transition to Home Unit (THU) serving adult patients with a history of homelessness.

The multidisciplinary team focuses on rehabilitation, recovery, and successful reintegration into the community .

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Perform standardized risk assessments
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Lead a weekly medication education group
• Provide teaching and supervision of medical students as needed

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
• Active New York State medical license
• ABPN Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Minimum of 3 years of post-residency clinical experience
• Medicare enrolled
• Medicaid enrolled
• Specialty: Adult Psychiatry – Inpatient

Working Hours

• Full-time
• 40 hours per week
• Monday–Friday
• 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 100% onsite/in-person
• No flexible scheduling
• No remote work available
