Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary:


Seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the emergency room laboratory team at a busy facility. The role involves performing point-of-care testing, clerical duties, and supporting laboratory operations on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct and interpret point-of-care testing procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests following established protocols.
• Support lab operations by completing clerical tasks as assigned by nursing and lab leadership.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Document test results and ensure accurate reporting in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to facilitate patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active and full clinical laboratory license; Associates degree is not sufficient.
• Certified as an MLS through ASCP or equivalent (CLS, MT).
• Demonstrate proficiency in point-of-care testing and laboratory procedures.
• Possess strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and nights.
• Prior experience in a hospital or emergency room laboratory setting preferred.
