Production Supervisor - 3rd shift

About the Role Production Supervisor in Franklin, WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility and will play an integral part of Saputo’s strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. The supervisor directly oversees production employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas, plans and directs work, resolves product and employee concerns, and ensures compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. Responsibilities Work with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant. Ensure proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines. Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments to machines. Coordinate and communicate production schedules and estimate worker‑hour requirements for completion of production run assignments. Evaluate and anticipate production volume adjustments, perform daily assignment of duties, and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production run schedules. Using the ERP system, complete production data entry and reporting, including results, volume, OEE, and planned/unplanned downtime by product type and order. Complete and review production/packaging records, Master Cleaning Sanitation Lists, schedules, accident reports, investigations, and other required documents. Coordinate and conduct employee training (e.g., job, safety) and monitor work performance. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Using continuous improvement methods, analyze, identify, and communicate root causes and preventive measures to proactively resolve work problems. Maintain time and production records as required. Collaborate cross‑functionally with other departments to meet performance objectives. Provide supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, and performance management. Participate in grievance solutions or other contract‑related activities when a collective bargaining agreement exists. Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures. Support employee progressive disciplinary action activities in partnership with Human Resources. Promote safety programs and policies to reduce the number of safety incidents and near‑misses. Train and instruct employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes. Oversee instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees. Engage in typical managerial responsibilities requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating. Adhere to Saputo code of ethics and actively apply Saputo values. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Qualifications One to three years of supervisory experience in a food packaging environment preferred. Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Operations Management or equivalent experience. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. Proficient with ERP solutions; SAP preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer‑based applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and pay attention to details. Strong team player and leader able to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees. Understanding of cost containment and budgetary principles. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, in support of plant operations. Demonstrates professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes noise, changing temperatures, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and maneuvering around equipment throughout the shift.
