Advanced Practice Nurse - Certified Nurse Anesthetist - CRNA

Overview The VA New Mexico Healthcare System is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to serve in the Anesthesiology Department at the Raymond G Murphy Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The CRNA provides a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The CRNA practices to the full extent of their education, training, and certification and provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management. Responsibilities Collaborate with a variety of health care professionals to achieve common goals for care, safety, and welfare of patients Foster high levels of confidence and satisfaction among patients and staff, and meet or exceed compliance standards Provide anesthetic services within five general categories to include: pre-anesthesia evaluation and preparation, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence, post-anesthesia care, peri-anesthetic and clinical support functions, and emergency response techniques Develop and implement a comprehensive anesthesia plan of care for patients requiring local, regional, general, and monitored anesthesia both inside and outside the Operating Room (OR) suite Ensure anesthetic services delivered throughout the facility are of the highest quality to promote patient safety, satisfaction, and improve outcomes and efficiencies Serve as a resource for staff education and be willing to be a preceptor and adjunct clinical faculty for health care trainees Develop and implement evidence-based practices essential to delivering high-quality anesthesia care Prescribe appropriate preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative orders and medications Exemplify the ICARE core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence Participate in VA total rewards programs and related benefits as applicable Benefits and Incentives VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package including competitive salary, regular salary increases, and potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, variable hours, 6:30am – 3:00pm; swing shifts Telework: Not Available; Virtual: Not a virtual position Education and Eligibility Recruitment Incentives: Authorized Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
