Athletic Operations Coordinator

The Athletic Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing Baker College Athletics by leading day‑to‑day operational functions that support a positive and competitive student‑athlete experience. The Coordinator works with the Athletic Director to implement NAIA, WHAC and Baker College regulations and support the daily operations of the Athletic Department. Responsibilities Coordinate all team travel arrangements, including transportation, lodging, and meals, and maintain comprehensive records of contracts, vendor agreements, policies and procedures. Support accounting functions, purchasing activities, financial reporting, travel expenditures and budget monitoring; analyze monthly financial reports, create purchase orders, reconcile sport‑specific purchases and travel expenses, and ensure expenditures align with approved budgets. Manage game contracts, schedule confirmations and event cancellations with opposing institutions, officials; oversee home game‑day operations, coordinate officials and facilitate visiting team logistics. Administer department calendars, facility scheduling and practice schedules; serve as primary liaison with campus facilities and maintenance personnel. Coordinate communication between coaching staffs, athletics administration, and campus departments; assist in developing and evaluating procedures to prevent NAIA and WHAC violations. Monitor fundraising activities for compliance; support athletic fundraising initiatives and annual fundraising events. Assist in hiring, onboarding, supervising and evaluating student employees and graduate assistants. Participate in departmental meetings, workshops and retreats; coordinate community outreach and volunteer service opportunities for student‑athletes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education or related field; master’s degree preferred. Minimum 2–5 years of collegiate and/or professional athletics experience, with experience in NAIA or NCAA environments preferred. Demonstrated success in athletic administration, student‑athlete development, budget management, and effective communication. Strong strategic thinking and decision‑making skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Commitment to institutional integrity and adherence to NAIA, WHAC and Baker College Athletics rules, regulations and values. Knowledge of athletic operations and sport‑specific training principles; proficiency with recruiting platforms, video analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
