Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Job Description

The Press Brake Operator will set up and operate press brake machines to produce high-quality metal components in a precision-focused manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, and a consistent commitment to safety and quality standards throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare press brake machines for production runs, including selecting appropriate tooling and materials.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine precise bending and forming requirements.
• Program and adjust machine settings, including speed, angle, and pressure, to achieve accurate bends and cuts.
• Load sheet metal and other materials into the press brake and align them properly to ensure precise shaping.
• Monitor the production process and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect finished products using measuring tools, including tape measures, to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve minor machine malfunctions and production issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist with machine setup changes between jobs to support efficient workflow and on-time production.

Essential Skills

• Prior press brake operating experience.
• Proficient tape measure skills and the ability to perform basic shop math.
• Ability to set up and operate press brake machines safely and accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Machine setup experience, including tooling selection and adjustment (nice to have).
• Experience operating Accupress press brake equipment (A Plus, but not required).
• Familiarity with CNC press brake operations and sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Comfort working in a production shop environment with varying temperatures.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime as production needs require (No weekends required)

Work Environment

This role is based in a shop environment that is primarily climate controlled, though temperatures can vary and may become hotter or colder when bay doors are open. The position follows a first-shift schedule of four 10-hour days, either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional overtime required on the fifth day. The work involves operating press brake machinery and handling sheet metal within a production setting, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and consistent use of appropriate work attire and uniforms.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fenton, MO.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
