Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | Shift hours typically 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (may vary between 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM range) | No call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments in the perioperative setting, including preoperative preparation, intraoperative support, and Phase 2 post-operative care
• Insert IVs, prepare patients for surgery, and perform procedures such as Foley catheter insertion, patient prepping, and positioning
• Coordinate patient care throughout surgical services, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and surgical staff to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgical procedures; provide discharge instructions
• Anticipate surgical team needs, manage sterile field integrity, and operate equipment including Alaris pumps and bladder scanners
• May float to Endoscopy or PACU to assist within scope as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice or valid compact license
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience
• Strong IV insertion skills and demonstrated ability to prepare patients for surgery
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
• Completion of dysrhythmia exam required prior to start
• Travel contract position only – candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Endoscopy or PACU settings
• CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) or SGNA certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Completion of a Periop 101 or OR internship program
