Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit position requiring ONS chemotherapy certification and at least 1 year of current hematology/oncology experience.

Details

• Inpatient oncology unit specializing in mixed acuity PCU and Med/Surg care (14 & 15W BMT)
• Night shift, 3x12-hour rotation (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
• Patient population includes leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and related blood disorders
• Utilizes Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of current hematology/oncology experience within the last 3 years
• Epic charting experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Skills required: telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, chemotherapy administration, port access/management, and feeding tube care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for individuals undergoing stem cell transplants and related oncology treatments, including symptom and oncologic emergency management
• Administer chemotherapy and manage associated body fluid handling per safety protocols
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel roles at this facility
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly after contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel or complete a mailed fingerprint packet
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to submission, limited to 7 days or less
