Safety Specialist | West Point, PA

ResponsibilitiesHazTek is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to support a project in West Point, PA. This role will be responsible for helping implement and manage site-specific health and safety requirements while working closely with project teams, contractors, and subcontractors in an active industrial/pharmaceutical environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor contractor and subcontractor work activities to ensure safe work practices and complianceSupport contractor onboarding, orientation, and safety training requirementsReview project-specific safety plans and assist with contractor safety prequalificationConduct field observations, inspections, audits, and safety performance reviewsParticipate in incident investigations and root cause analysisEnsure compliance with site safety programs including permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, crane and hoist activities, electrical safety, working at heights, PPE, hazardous materials, fire/life safety, and emergency responseDocument non-conformance issues and help drive corrective actionsEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirementsQualifications5+ years of safety experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical projectsStrong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and contractor safety managementExperience with field audits, incident investigations, and safety training/orientationFamiliarity with high-risk activities such as LOTO, confined space, electrical safety, fall protection, cranes/rigging, and permit-to-work systemsStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors and site teamsOSHA 30 required; additional certifications are a plusEmbody HazTek's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Dependability, Leadership, AccountabilityOverviewHazTek Safety Management is a full-service, objective safety partner, founded in 1997.
