MG Advanced Practice Provider

GI Advanced Practice Provider (APP) The APP will be accountable to facilitate quality ambulatory and hospital experience and outcomes for patients, reporting to the Chief and Medical Director of the division. The main practice focus is the outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation to assist with GI consultations, acting as an educator, consultant, and liaison to healthcare providers caring for gastroenterology patients. Responsibilities Obtain and record medical histories, perform and record physical examinations, and record progress notes. Develop treatment and follow-up plans, and coordinate follow-up visits with attending gastroenterologists. Initiate patient care management plans with the supervising physician. Participate in education of patients, families, and caregivers about treatment plans, expected outcomes, and progress. Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control in accordance with hospital policies and objectives. Perform other duties as requested by the supervising physician. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner program with an MS degree, certified by ANA or AANP in expanded role, with a license that includes prescriptive privileges. Complete a course in American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Successfully complete a supervised three‑month clinical internship or equivalent in a clinical intensive atmosphere, preferably in Gastroenterology. Have patient‑care experience, procedures and privileges approved by the sponsoring physician. Work in acute‑care hospital, physicians' office, or ancillary healthcare environment, minimizing hazards by following safety procedures.
