You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in.Ferguson Industrial has a position open for a Buyer Associate to provide procurement expertise and customer service functions working on site with a team at our customer location in La Porte, IN.The ideal candidate is an energetic and highly motivated individual who takes an optimistic approach to new challenges and embraces the Company's strategic vision; a person that thrives when working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment to effectively lead and drive process improvements.Responsibilities:Perform a range of procurement activitiesMonitor inventory and manage product shortagesDevelops and maintains relationships with suppliers, vendors and internal departments, acting as point of contact for queries.Leads negotiations of contracts, including terms and volume discountsDrafts procurement reports, analyses inventory and project utilization, and recommends useful insights.Expedite ordersReconciliation of payable discrepanciesManage freight billing and audit processesResearch specifications of products not clearly identifiedEnter and edit purchase orders and blanket order releasesEnsure product file integrityMaintain good customer and supplier relationsReconcile customer problemsMust be comfortable assisting in the warehouse as neededQualifications:Previous experience in a buyer role preferredGood Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience preferredProven ability to follow documented proceduresKnowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) products is preferredProficient in Microsoft Office softwareDetail oriented and proven organization skills with a high level of accuracyStrong customer service skills and problem-solving proficiencyA positive attitude, strong work ethic, and phenomenal communication skillsAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
