Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 days Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 1-2 hours per day or every other day Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current license to practice respiratory care as required by applicable regulations Certifications: Must have relevant certifications as required by applicable regulations Must-Have: - Knowledge of respiratory therapy technology - Skill in the operation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment - Ability to understand mechanical and respiratory therapy procedures - Ability to demonstrate dexterity - Ability to establish good rapport with clients - Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records - Ability to train others in respiratory therapy procedures Description: Administers inhalation treatments using prescribed equipment. Assembles and applies pressure devices for various respiratory therapies. Assembles equipment and administers aerosol therapy to clients. Answers emergency pages and maintains client and departmental records as assigned. Conducts in-service training for healthcare personnel in respiratory therapy procedures. May work weekends and rotating shifts. Exposed to patients who may display unpredictable behavior, infectious, or communicable diseases. Employees with a Temporary Permit must obtain a license within one year of issuance. Failure to obtain a license or meet continuing education requirements can lead to removal from the position.
