If you're ready for a long-term career with real opportunities for growth, you'll find it here.Summary / ObjectiveTo perform "The Perfect Service Call" during preventative maintenance and diagnostics on residential heating and air conditioning systems: tanked and tankless water heaters, ducted systems, ductless systems, gas and pellet stoves, gas fireplaces and inserts according to company standards providing the customer with a high-quality experience. Perform like for like tanked and tankless water heater change outs. Perform diagnostic service calls during extended hours and weekend on-call rotations with phone assistance as needed. Develop beginning understanding and basic troubleshooting skills for geothermal systems.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work hours are based on business needs and may vary. Extended hours and weekend work may be required to meet operational demands.Essential Job FunctionsAssist with gathering information on-site for commercial maintenance bidsTrain Level 1 - 3 Service Techs on how to perform The Perfect Service Call during ride-alongs and on the jobRun extended hours and on-call weekend rotation service calls with phone assistance as neededPerform residential and light commercial preventative maintenance on all HVAC, water heating and gas fireplace/insert/pellet equipment according to company standards using The Perfect Service Call method to provide a friendly, high-quality customer experienceProficiently perform diagnostics and maintenance on tanked and tankless water heatersProficiently perform diagnostics and maintenance on ducted and ductless equipmentProficiently perform diagnostics and maintenance on gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves, and pellet stoves and insertsProficiently perform like for like change outs of tanked and tankless water heatersDemonstrate the ability to meet company KPI's on the monthly Service Incentive Report, specifically meeting or exceeding truck revenue targets for a minimum of 9 out of 12 monthsMaintain professional appearance and attitude at all timesThe Perfect Service CallArrive at the job site at scheduled time and location as dispatchedRelocate from one job site to another job site as dispatched during the workdayReport to the dispatcher when arriving and leaving job siteOperate company vehicle safely, obeying all traffic lawsFollow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and carry out work in a timely mannerReport problems with company tools or vehicles promptlyReport problems with personal tools for possible replacementReport problems with equipment to Service Dispatcher to expedite parts deliveryReport problems with customers to Manager or Service Dispatcher immediatelyDocument work with written notes and photos in software programCommunicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on service visits as directedGather information about equipment replacement needs and inform dispatch and sales so they can schedule a replacement estimate appointment using software checklist formsInform and educate customers about the benefits of preventative maintenanceInform and educate customers on additional products or services available through companyInform customer of replacement options following company guidelinesDemonstrate customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to clean indoor and outdoor coilsComplete all service related forms properlyDemonstrate in depth knowledge of electrical refrigeration principlesDemonstrate in depth knowledge of service tools and testing devicesDemonstrate in depth soldering skillsAttend team meetings, scheduled training/ meet training requirements as set by the companyContinuing educationOther duties as assignedTravel Travel may be required for training, events, and job site supportEducation and Experience4-5 years of related HVAC experienceMust pass drug and background screensValid driver's license and insurable through Marshall's insurance carrierAble to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writingAbility to work with tools used in the job in a safe mannerWater Heater Installer's License requiredLP License requiredNATE Certification in Gas Heating (Air) Service requiredThis position requires:Great communication skillsAttention to detailWritten and Photographic Documentation in Software ProgramContinuous Learning and Professional DevelopmentCustomer/Client focusedQuality Oriented/Work StandardsSafety AwarenessWork Environment This position may involve exposure to various environmental conditions including heat, cold, humidity, snow, and wet conditions. The role may require working in confined spaces and you may be exposed to insects, animals, mammals, reptiles and other conditions deemed by worksite. Physical Demands Reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, crawling, squatting. Holding, carrying objects and lifting – including heavy objects such as equipment up to 100 pounds. Use of tools and equipment such as cell phones, tablets, hand tools and ladders including extension ladders. Use of vision abilities includes close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Must be able to hear and speak. Must be able to work in small or confined workspaces.
