Network Engineer
DGS Office of External Affairs
The Network Engineer supports enterprise network infrastructure at the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, designing, implementing, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, VPNs, and related security technologies. This senior technical role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, coordinating with other IT teams, and leading infrastructure improvements across all SLED locations. The position requires on‑call participation in a 24/7 support rotation and may involve travel. Key qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 7 years supporting enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, and network security Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs, VXLAN, BGP, ISE, RADIUS, 802.1X, Cisco technologies, and disaster recovery networking Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and maintain technical documentation CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, or equivalent certifications (preferred) Willingness to participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation and travel including overnight stay #J-18808-Ljbffr DGS Office of External Affairs
