Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

WCS Healthcare is currently partnering with a New York State Psychiatric Hospital seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join its Adult Mental Health team.

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated LPNs with at least one (1) year of experience working with the adult mental health population . This is an excellent opportunity to work within a state-operated behavioral health setting while making a meaningful impact on patient care and recovery.

Position Details

• Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital
• Patient Population: Adult Mental Health
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week
• Shifts Available:
  • Days
  • Evenings
  • Nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients in a secure inpatient setting.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic and adverse effects.
• Observe, assess, and document patient behaviors and clinical status.
• Assist with treatment plans and support patient recovery goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, RNs, social workers, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Support a safe, therapeutic environment and assist with crisis intervention when necessary.

Requirements

• Active New York State LPN License.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the Adult Mental Health population .
• Current BLS Certification.
• Strong communication, assessment, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced psychiatric treatment setting.
