Infection Preventionist

Adventist HealthCare is hiring an Infection Preventionist for our Quality and Patient Safety department in Rockville, Maryland, who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Qualified candidates will be eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus. (Current AHC employees not eligible see below under additional details.)

As an Infection Preventionist, you will:

• Conduct surveillance and outbreak investigations as indicated
• Provide integral input into the design and implementation of educational presentations regarding infection prevention and isolation/precautions in relation to specific communicable diseases
• Designs and supports day-to-day operations of the infection prevention program
• In collaboration with Occupational Health, investigates significant infection problems and other infections amongst patients and team members
• Reports communicable diseases to respective units/departments as required
• Ensures infection prevention databases are maintained in a timely fashion
• Represents infection prevention at entity/system-wide forums

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Science degree in related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Previous experience in infection control and knowledge of OSHA, TJC, CDC, CARF and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines related to infection control
• More than 10 years of direct infection control experience preferred
• Previous infection control experience in the Rehabilitation setting is strongly preferred
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC)

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Full-time
Hours per Week: 40 hours/week
Typical Daily Schedule: 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday
Shift Type: Day Shift

*$7,500 sign-on bonus over 3 installments (paid at 90 days, 1 year & 2 years of hire date)*Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus who are transferring from one entity to another and/or transferring within their entity. Employees that have terminated their employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign-on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign-on bonus."

Pay Range:

$89,356.80 - $134,035.20

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
