As an Unarmed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.03 / Hour Job Schedule: Thur 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sat 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM Sun 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and residents while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residential areas, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report concerns. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel. Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with campus policies; document and communicate unusual conditions, incidents, and maintenance concerns. Support a welcoming educational environment through professional communication, accurate report writing, and collaboration with campus stakeholders and emergency responders. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
