DickersonBakker is a consulting firm established in 1985 that works primarily with faith-based nonprofit organizations in the USA, Canada, and overseas, providing fundraising and executive search consulting services. Our team of 50+ is located all across the USA, with a main office in Raleigh, NC.

We're looking for talented freelance writers who know how to move people — and move them to act. If you write copy that connects emotionally, drives donations or response, and adapts across channels, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Write

Direct mail appeals acquisition, renewal, and emergency appeal packages that motivate donors to give. Digital content email campaigns, social copy, landing pages, and e-appeals designed to convert online audiences. Impact messaging donor reports, stewardship pieces, and case statements that demonstrate results and deepen donor relationships.

You're a Great Fit If You

• Have experience writing fundraising or direct response copy
• Understand the art of the ask — and know how to tell a story that leads to one
• Can write for both print and digital audiences with equal fluency
• Meet deadlines, take feedback well, and work independently
• Have a portfolio of direct mail, email, or nonprofit writing samples
