Quality Control Technician

Location: Elmhurst, IL

Position Type: Full-Time / On-Site

Pay Range: $24 – $27 / hour (DOE)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Technician to join our client's manufacturing team in Elmhurst, IL. In this vital role, you will ensure our products consistently meet rigorous quality standards by performing precise inspections, measurements, and audits throughout the production process. Your expertise will maintain compliance with industry regulations, uphold the integrity of our manufacturing operations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Inspections: Perform visual and precise mechanical measurements on parts using blueprints, drawings, Keyence 2D & 3D Measuring Systems, micrometers, calipers, and pull-force gauges.
• Magnetic Testing: Execute specialized magnetic property testing using flux meters, gauss meters, and computerized BH curve tracers (permeameters).
• Validation & Compliance: Validate supplier reports and internal inspection results against customer specifications and industry standards.
• Calibration & Records: Maintain the facility calibration system and establish/maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Root Cause & Corrective Action: Collect and analyze data regarding quality metrics, non-conformance reports, and inspection results to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Internal Audits: Conduct regular quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001 to identify areas for operational improvement.
• Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with production teams to optimize quality systems and reduce defects.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in quality assurance/quality control within a manufacturing environment, including a strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards.
• Technical Skills:
• • Proficiency with precision measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, Keyence 2D & 3D systems).
  • Ability to accurately interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), data collection methods, and conducting quality audits.
• Software & Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable operating computer-driven inspection and test equipment.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical and basic math skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required; Associate degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
