Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance MechanicThe Maintenance Mechanics will need an advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, pipefitting, and fluid power industrial manufacturing maintenance. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the overall reliability of stamping production equipment. This is a 1st shift position starting at 5am and ending at 3:30pm working 5-6 days per week.Maintenance Mechanic Essential FunctionsInstalls, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.Basic skill of using electrical meters to determine electrical problems.Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.Maintains inventories of equipment, parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Maintenance Mechanic Required ExperienceExperience in maintenance mechanics with basic electrical and pipe fitting experience.Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing and code books.Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills.Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.Have basic workbench and computer skills.Basic knowledge of relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC & SLC and motor control circuits.Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books.Repair knowledge of pumps, compressors, gear boxes and blowers.Maintenance Mechanic Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.Ability to use hand tools.Ability to read applicable instructions.Company OverviewAt Thunderbird, the collaborative relationship with our parent and partner companies allows us to better serve our customers – now and in the future.
