Job Title Coordinator of Sport Programs and Cain Sports Complex Summary The Coordinator of Sport Programs and Cain Sports Complex is responsible for elevating, delivering, and managing an innovative, comprehensive Sport Programs (Intramural Sports, Club Sports and Esports) as well as overseeing the Cain Sports Complex. This position maintains responsibilities related to program implementation, personnel management, budget management, and risk management. This position reports to the Associate Director. Duties & Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee day-to-day operations of Sport Programs (Intramural Sports, Club Sports and Esports) in accordance with industry and safety standards. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Cain Sports Complex which includes three activity fields, four tennis courts, four sand volleyball courts, three support buildings, and RecRe equipment checkout locker. Oversee daily operations of the Esports room including troubleshooting gaming PCs and consoles. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, evaluate, manage payroll, and mentor all Sport Programs staff. Advise, mentor, and train all club sport officers and leaders, including member recruitment, opponent and field scheduling, club promotion, budget management, equipment management, risk management, and travel. Develop, implement, and communicate policies, rules, and procedures to ensure safe, welcoming, and educational sport programs. Develop and monitor Intramural, Club Sports, Esports, and Cain Sports Complex budgets. Manage inventory, maintenance, and purchasing of all equipment for responsible areas. Promote and market the Sport Programs, Cain Sports Complex and Esports room. Utilize various technology platforms to manage staff, participants, and programs. Instruct American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA courses (must obtain within first 6 months of employment and maintain). Assist in collecting and analyzing participant and staff satisfaction/needs to measure program effectiveness and implement new initiatives and short/long‑term goals. General Department Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate commitment to providing an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, supported, and respected as they pursue academic and professional goals. Support and align with department mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. Assist with department events and programming as needed. Serve on department committees. Collaborate with campus partners and other Campus Recreation program areas. Work early morning, night and weekend hours as needed. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain programs. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree. Experience: One year combined related experience in sports program management in collegiate, community, or private setting (part-time work, graduate assistantships, internships counted as half-time). Officiated a minimum of one sport at intramural, high school, or collegiate level. Able to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. First Aid and CPR certification (or must obtain within 60 days). Desired Education/Skills/Experience Demonstrated Intramural Sports and/or Club Sports experience. Supervision of Others Supervises 10‑15 Officials, 5‑8 Sport Program Supervisors, 4‑6 Esports staff, and 1‑2 Program support staff. Work Environment Office or fitness center environment. Non‑smoking environment. Low to moderate noise. Outdoor environment. Local, regional and national travel as applicable. Physical Demands Sitting at a desk or table for at least 50% of the workday. Standing or walking for at least 50% of the workday. Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement (while operating computer equipment). Bending and stooping as required. All positions are security-sensitive; subject to criminal history investigation.
