R&D Engineer
JCW Group has partnered with a global technology company to hire an R&D Engineer. This is a contract engagement based onsite in Mountain View, California, where you will validate, migrate, and optimize FPGA prototyping designs across the company hardware platforms while supporting hands-on lab work. It is an excellent opportunity for a junior engineer with FPGA prototyping exposure looking to build depth on production hardware platforms alongside an established engineering team.

Position Details

• Location: Mountain View, CA (onsite)
• Employment Type: Contract
• Duration: September 1, 2026 through January 29, 2027
• Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week
• Pay Rate: Starting at $50/hr.

Position Overview
This role sits within the Engineering function and centers on FPGA prototyping design work carried out directly on hardware. The engineer will confirm that existing designs perform as intended, adapt and tune those designs so they run across the full range of company hardware platforms, and spend meaningful time in the lab running hardware experiments. Documentation is part of the role as well, alongside setting personal timetables that align with assigned tasks and support the project goals of fellow engineers.



Key Responsibilities

• Validate and sanity check existing FPGA prototyping designs on hardware.
• Migrate existing FPGA prototyping designs to all company hardware platforms and optimize them for those platforms.
• Create and edit user documents.
• Conduct hardware experiments in the lab, including maintaining setups and equipment.
• Establish personal timetables based on task assignment and support the related assigned project goals of other engineers.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Junior level of expertise within an engineering discipline.
• Hands-on experience validating FPGA prototyping designs on hardware.
• Hands-on experience working within Vivado.
• Ability to migrate and optimize FPGA prototyping designs across multiple hardware platforms.
• Ability to create and edit user documentation.
• Comfort working in a lab environment, including maintaining hardware setups and equipment.
• Ability to set personal timetables against assigned tasks and support the project goals of other engineers.
• Availability to work onsite 5 days per week in Mountain View, California.
