A leading aerospace manufacturing company is seeking an experienced EDM Machinist to join its growing team in Santa Clarita, CA. The company specializes in manufacturing precision components and assemblies for commercial and defense aerospace applications, utilizing advanced machining technologies in a quality-driven, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, program, operate, and monitor Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.

Select appropriate tooling, electrodes, and machining parameters for various applications.

Perform in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall part quality.

Adjust machine offsets and parameters to optimize machining performance.

Record production data and maintain accurate documentation.

Perform routine machine maintenance and follow preventive maintenance procedures.

Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes.

Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while meeting production schedules.

Qualifications

Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM machines.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.

Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and aerospace machining tolerances.

Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM or similar inspection equipment.

Knowledge of machining practices, shop mathematics, and material properties, including aluminum, titanium, and high-temperature alloys.

Experience with CNC controls and basic program editing; CAD/CAM experience is a plus.

Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with quality systems such as AS9100 is preferred.

Commitment to workplace safety, organization, and quality standards.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Previous aerospace manufacturing or precision machining experience is highly preferred.

Vocational training or technical certification in machining or manufacturing is a plus.

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive machining tasks.
