Medical Assistant

Job Description


The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role is heavily focused on back-office responsibilities, including direct patient care, clinical procedures, and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in phlebotomy, confident performing blood draws independently, and experienced working with diverse patient populations.


Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

• Room patients and prepare them for examination by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
• Assist providers during patient exams and minor procedures
• Perform blood draws and administer vaccines and injections as directed by providers
• Prepare exam rooms and set up procedure trays for clinical visits
• Clean and sanitize exam rooms and medical equipment between patients
• Maintain proper stocking of exam rooms and clinical supplies
• Provide Spanish translation for providers and patients when needed to ensure clear communication
• Assist with specimen collection and ensure proper labeling and handling
• Support providers with any additional clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient care

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification
• Minimum 1 year of Back Office Medical Assistant experience
• CPR Certification (current)
• Fluent in Spanish and English, with ability to translate for providers and patients
• Experience with vaccines, injections, and blood draws

Schedule/ Shift:

• Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5pm / Two Saturdays a month
• Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm / Two Saturdays a month
