The Quality Control Inspector will perform detailed inspections on industrial and process piping projects, ensuring that materials, fabrication, and installation meet all applicable project specifications and industry standards. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for a detail-oriented inspection professional holding an ASNT VT Level II or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification who is comfortable working on multiple project sites and handling extensive quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive quality inspections on piping and mechanical installations across multiple project sites.
• Verify that materials, fabrication methods, and installations comply with project specifications, industry codes, and quality standards.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections and accurately document all findings, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
• Ensure strict compliance with customer requirements as well as safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and quality documentation to guide inspection activities.
• Generate clear, detailed inspection reports and maintain organized, up-to-date quality documentation.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to address and resolve quality concerns.
• Support multiple industrial and process piping projects, adapting to varying schedules and project demands.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes by identifying trends and recommending enhancements.

Essential Skills

• Active ASNT VT Level II certification or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, project specifications, and quality documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in inspection and reporting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with project teams and documenting results.
• Solid understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques for piping and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work extended hours, including overtime and potential Saturday shifts, based on project needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, hygienic, process, or industrial construction environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of stainless steel, alloy, and process piping systems, including high-purity stainless steel tubing, C-22 Hastelloy, copper ProPress, PVC, and stainless steel process piping.
• Familiarity with industrial and process piping applications and related construction practices.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and maintaining thorough documentation.
• Ability to adapt to varying project requirements and work conditions across different sites.

Work Environment

The work environment centers on industrial and process piping projects that utilize high-purity stainless steel tubing, C-22 Hastelloy systems, copper ProPress installations, PVC piping systems, and stainless steel process piping. Work schedules typically range from 45 to 60 hours per week, with overtime and occasional Saturday work based on project demands. The role involves time on active construction and fabrication sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The setting is fast-paced and project-driven, with collaboration across field personnel, supervisors, and project management to maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
