Registered Nurse Surgical Stepdown

Schedule

12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week; weekend rotation every other weekend.

Assignment Details

Length of contract: 26 weeks, with the facility preferring longer contracts (26-51 weeks). Compliance due date: 2 Thursdays prior to start date.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of progressive care/step down experience required.
• AHA BLS certification required at time of submission.
• Active Kansas or multistate nursing license required; no hits allowed.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred; testing option available.
• Education: ADN or BSN required.
• Vaccination: Immunity status of Hep B, MMR, & Varicella (by titer or proof of vaccination series), TDaP vaccine, Influenza vaccine (or exemption during flu season), TB documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality nursing practices.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care and outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatments.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.

Compliance / Notes

RTO: Maximum of 10 days for a 26-week or longer contract, maximum of 5 RTO days for contracts shorter than 26 weeks. Holiday RTO Policy: HCP may request 1 holiday off; allowed to request 2 federal holidays per year plus additional spring and winter non-essential holidays.
