Senior CNC Programming Toolmaker — Injection Mold LeadLocation: St. Francis, WI — Onsite (Sheridan Molding and Engineering, 4140 S Nevada Ave., St. Francis, WI 53235)Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.A day in your roleAt 6:00 a.m., you step into our St. Francis facility, review the day’s build plan, and load up your first program. By mid-morning, you’ve translated a complex mold design into precise toolpaths, set up a 3–4 axis VMC, and verified offsets. After lunch, you’re collaborating with an engineer on a tight-tolerance insert, moving from CAD/CAM to G-code/M-code edits, and finishing on a wire EDM. Explore more at irco.com and own your future with us.What you’ll doProgram, set up, and operate CNC equipment (mills, lathes, routers) to manufacture precision mold components.Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to determine machining strategy.Work across materials common to moldmaking while holding tight tolerances.Load materials and tooling; monitor machining operations and adjust feeds/speeds and toolpaths as needed.Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other metrology to ensure specifications are met.Troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and keep accurate production records.Partner with engineers and production to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.Support tool/die/mold setup and repair activities as needed.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.What you bringHigh school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in CNC machining preferred.5+ years operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.Proven experience with tight-tolerance work, strong mechanical aptitude, and solid problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively; clear, effective communication and high attention to detail.Work environment and physical expectationsStand for extended periods in a shop environment with typical noise and dust.Manual dexterity; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Preferred skillsBlueprint reading and use of precision measuring instruments.G-code/CNC programming familiarity; CAD/CAM proficiency is a plus.Proficiencies we valueDie attach/bondingContinuous improvementCNC toolingTroubleshooting and mechanical troubleshootingCNC programmingCAD softwareG-code and M-codeCAD/CAM softwareTool/die/mold repair skillsHigh school/GEDExcellent communicationExperience in a manufacturing environmentInjection molding experienceTool/die/mold setup experienceBlueprint readingBasic computer skillsMachines and technologies you’ll work withCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)Universal Machining Center (3–4 axis and 5 axis UMC)CNC Lathe (2–4 axis and 5+ axis)CNC automation solutionsEDM (sinker, wire, and EDM drilling)Die cast machines (cold chamber and hot chamber)CAD and CAM softwareOnsite arrangementThis role is based at our St. Francis, WI facility.Benefits and well-beingWe embrace a culture of personal ownership—of our work, communities, environment, and our well-being.
