Head Of Finance-USHybrid role that allows working remote 2 days a weekLocation: Louisville, KYReports To: Group Finance DirectorPosition OverviewThe Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and core financial processes and will report to the Group Finance Director who sits overseas in Europe. Their U.S. headquarters quite recently was established in Louisville, KY and they are in an expansion mode. This role plays a critical leadership function in driving accurate and timely month-end close, managing cash flow forecasting, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.The position partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & Reporting:Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsOversee Blackline reconciliations and system uploadsProduce monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysisPresent financial results to leadership and participate in monthly review meetingsForecasting, Cash Flow & FP&A:Own the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysisSupport monthly rolling forecasts and budget updatesAnalyze variances between actuals, forecast, and budgetProvide actionable financial insights and recommendationsCompliance, Tax & Regulatory Reporting:Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirementsOversee preparation and filing of returns and reportsManage relationships with external advisors and auditorsProject & Capital Accounting:Partner with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgetsMonitor project costs and timelinesManage asset capitalization processesProcess Improvement & Systems:Identify and implement process improvementsDrive automation and efficiency in financial systemsLeadership & Collaboration:Provide oversight and guidance to accounting staffServe as a key finance partner to operations and leadershipQualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA preferredMBA a plus8–12+ years of experience in accounting/financeTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingERP and financial systems experience with tools such as D365Advanced Excel skills, power BI a plusCore Competencies:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detailExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesPreferred Experience:Experience with tax credits and incentivesProject or capital accounting experienceMulti-entity or international exposure
