Registered Nurse - Surgical Trauma Unit

Schedule

Day shift position with a schedule of 12 hours per day, working 3 days a week. No block scheduling is available.

Job Description

An opportunity exists for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our high acuity Surgical Trauma floor. The nurse will be responsible for providing critical care to patients recovering from major surgeries, including those with complex injuries such as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to surgical trauma patients.
• Manage patient assessments, care plans, and administer medications.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team for comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Ensure effective communication during nurse handoff processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical or trauma nursing specialty.
• Current BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory.
