Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neurosurgery Medical/Surgical Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Patient ratio of 4:1.

Highlights:

• Join a fast-paced, 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit in a Magnet-designated teaching facility
• Work with diverse neurological patient populations including post-surgical spine and brain procedures, stroke patients, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and complex neuro diagnoses
• Collaborate with a comprehensive Joint Commission accredited stroke program team and interdisciplinary support staff
• Epic charting system in use; 24 hours of orientation provided
• Evidence-based practice environment with opportunities to advance clinical skills in neuro specialty care
• Access to robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Current Wisconsin RN license or compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient experience in Neuro Medical/Surgical Telemetry within the last 3 years
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date (strict passing criteria applies)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central line management, wound care, and specialized neuro nursing skills
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
