SPA is hiring an Linux and Kubernetes Administrator to support a multi-vendor infrastructure with a focus on Linux based systems. This position is aligned with the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division and located in their Chantilly, VA office.The role will include designing secure system configurations, documenting, and managing the deployment and installation of hardware, software, and cybersecurity tool sets, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems with up to 10% travel to support remote events. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux while possessing background and functional knowledge in MS Windows, capable of providing technical solutions to meet the requirements of the SPA ORCA group and clients.SPA has an immediate need for a Linux and Kubernetes Administrator. #KSResponsibilitiesThe Linux and Kubernetes Administrator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Design and implement new system and network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current information systemsInstall, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support information systems, routers, and switches, to include both physical and virtualConfigure routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and securityMaximizing performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshootingAccurately document instances of equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removalInvestigating faults in the systems and networks, perform analysis, diagnose, providing resolution of complex problems, and recommend and implement corrective actionsCoordinate services, troubleshooting, and resolutions with 3rd party transport providersPerform capacity analysis and planning to ensure growing user base and processing demandCoordinate and execute scheduled upgradesReporting system status to key stakeholdersAccurately document and maintain ATO documentation including standard operating procedure development, artifact creation, submission of artifacts to ISSM and/or government representativesAssist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for monitoring and responding to Cybersecurity continuous monitoring requirements (SIEM, Log review, validation of security controls, etc.)Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring system operationsProven experience with RHEL, Ubuntu, and other variants of LinuxDesigning, developing, deploying, and managing container orchestration through KubernetesConfiguring and managing Kubernetes clusters and the underlying infrastructureAutomating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applicationsPerforming system troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domainsEnsuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of Kubernetes infrastructureManaging Kubernetes and container registryInterface with third-party support and equipment vendors as neededTravel will be required to support remote client events, up to 10%QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 3-5 years directly related experienceExperience with system design, system security design and best practice, system building process development (Linux, Secure Host Baselines, Windows Server, Windows OS, etc.)Problem solving and time management capabilitiesExperience working independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environmentUS Citizenship required, successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified informationMust possess and maintain DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certificationSecurity clearance (Top Secret//SCI Required), and the ability to maintain it throughout employmentDesired Qualifications: Experience with routing and switching in multi-vendor environment (Dell, Cisco, Juniper)Experience in VMWare and virtualized architecture and environmentsPay Range InformationAt SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent.
