Operations Manager

Our Client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive profitability, optimize field operations, and lead high‑performing teams within the environmental remediation and utility sectors. This role is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, enforcing financial and safety standards, and supporting scalable growth. Location: North Haven, CT (with approximately 25% travel to project sites nationwide) Key Responsibilities Oversee project performance to protect margins, enforce cost controls, and monitor job costing to prevent budget variance. Manage field operations, including scheduling, labor utilization, and equipment allocation to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime. Enforce safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards across all active projects. Lead and develop Operations team members, including Project Managers and Field Supervisors, ensuring accountability and performance alignment. Review project plans and handoffs to confirm operational feasibility prior to execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field. Strong background in operations leadership within HDD (horizontal drilling), utility, or heavy civil construction environments. Proven experience managing project schedules, field teams, and financial performance metrics. Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on team development and retention. Solid financial acumen, particularly in job costing and margin management. Additional Information Bonus Eligible - $15K-$25K Willingness to travel as needed for project oversight.
