VP of Finance

Kforce's client, a growing, well-established organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area, is seeking a VP of Finance to lead financial operations across complex, project-based environments. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to drive profitability, strengthen controls, and support strategic growth initiatives. • VP of Finance will oversee end-to-end project accounting lifecycle (contract review through closeout)
• Manage payroll (multi-state, union/non-union), AP/AR, and collections
• Lead monthly close, job costing accuracy, and WIP reporting
• Own percentage-of-completion accounting and forecasting
• Analyze margins, cost overruns, and labor productivity trends
• Partner with operations to improve financial performance by project
• Drive cash flow forecasting, working capital, and banking relationships
• Optimize billing cycles, retainage recovery, and payables timing
• As VP of Finance, you will build and lead a high-performing project accounting team
• Enhance ERP systems, controls, and reporting processes
• Establish KPIs, accountability, and scalable infrastructure
• Support expansion, financial modeling, and investment analysis
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership
• 10-15+ years of accounting/finance experience
• 5+ years of construction industry experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Expertise in WIP, job costing, and revenue recognition
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
