Night Shift Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required. Floating is mandatory.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. The position involves caring for patients with conditions primarily related to Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), acute Myocardial Infarctions (MI), post-device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmias. Additional responsibilities include managing general surgery patients, including those undergoing colon rectal, ostomies, plastic and cosmetic procedures, breast procedures, and reconstruction surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Utilize EPIC for charting patient information.
• Administer blood products and ensure proper care for dysrhythmias.
• Follow isolation precautions and use PPE effectively.
• Provide wound care and manage Wound Vac treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting.
• New York State RN license required, must be in hand to apply.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; valid NIHSS must be included in submission.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Charge experience is preferred.
