Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit float pool position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Part of the hospital's Inpatient Float Pool, floating to Progressive Care/Stepdown units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
• May also float to acute care units as needed
• Patient ratios generally 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU units, up to 1:5 on acute care units
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards across multiple progressive care specialties
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support care planning and discharge planning
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and effective use of communication systems
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Holiday coverage required for assigned holidays
