Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Charlottesville, Virginia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, rotating\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Rotating, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a VA or compact license and PALS certification.Details\n \n Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital setting\n 1:2 patient ratio\n 13-week assignment with rotating day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) shifts, 4x12 hours\n Scheduled 36 or 48 hours per week\n Requires working 3 weekends per six-week schedule\n Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays\n May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs\n Uses Epic EMR\n Requirements\n \n Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start)\n Current BLS and PALS certifications required\n Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required\n Epic charting experience required\n Pediatric cardiac experience is a plus\n Trauma Level I experience preferred\n Experience with critical care skills such as ventilator management, arterial line management, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct care to critically ill pediatric patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal support\n May float within scope of practice as needed based on unit staffing\n Specialty-specific modules completed during orientation\n Maximum 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, with no additional time off approved after offer acceptance\n Time off not approved during first 2 weeks of contract\n Previous UVA permanent staff or internal/external travelers require 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning\n External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this health system\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-756477.
