As a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate, you'll handle a broad mix of Chapter 11 matters, distressed mergers and acquisitions, financial services transactions, out-of-court restructurings, and corporate workouts. Working alongside accomplished attorneys across the firm's Financial Services, Corporate, Finance, and M&A practices, you'll gain meaningful client exposure, early responsibility, and the opportunity to build specialized expertise in one of the most dynamic areas of transactional law.

- Advise clients on Chapter 11 proceedings, corporate restructurings, workouts, insolvency matters, and distressed transactions.
- Represent lenders, creditors, debtors, private equity sponsors, and distressed investors in complex restructuring matters.
- Draft and negotiate restructuring support agreements, financing documents, purchase agreements, and related transactional documents.
- Support distressed mergers and acquisitions, financial services transactions, and strategic corporate transactions.
- Conduct legal analysis related to bankruptcy, insolvency, creditors' rights, and restructuring strategies.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, investment bankers, and cross-functional legal teams throughout all stages of transactions.
- Manage multiple sophisticated matters while providing practical, business-focused legal advice.
- Build trusted client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- 2-6 years of legal experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, finance, corporate transactions, or related practice areas.
- Experience handling sophisticated transactional matters involving financial institutions or corporate clients.
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Licensed in North Carolina or eligible for admission.
Preferred
- Graduate of a Top 50 U.S. law school.
- Experience practicing at an Am Law 200 firm.
- Attorneys from highly regarded regional firms handling sophisticated transactional matters are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with Chapter 11 proceedings, corporate restructuring, distressed mergers and acquisitions, financial services transactions, or creditors' rights.
- Judicial clerkship in bankruptcy or a related court.
- Strong academic credentials, including a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

DISCLOSURES- Salary Range: $235,000-$360,000 annually , plus eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
- This is a full-time hybrid position based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with an expected schedule of approximately three days per week in the office.
