Registered Nurse - Moderate Sedation

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 or 40 hours per week, with days of 10 or 12-hour shifts, including on-call for weekends and nights.

Job Description

Join a dedicated team that provides moderate sedation in a fast-paced procedural area, caring for patients undergoing preventative and interventional stroke care. Responsibilities include intraoperative moderate sedation and circulating when not providing moderate sedation. The RN administers moderate sedation, closely monitors the patient's cardiac and physical status, and collaborates with the physician to ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients’ status during procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Circulate in the procedural area when not providing sedation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN License (New York only)
• Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required, preferably in a level 1 trauma hospital.
• Experience with moderate sedation and interventional radiology required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Telemetry experience required.
