Manufacturing Quality Assurance Technician 1st Shift Full-time Position Type: Permanent Shift: 1st Shift Compensation: from USD 19 per hour Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products across North America. The Manufacturing Quality Assurance Technician (1st Shift) is responsible for daily checks on key equipment and processes to ensure adherence to documented guidelines. Timely response to manufacturing floor problems, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions are critical to maintain product quality. Key Responsibilities Inspect manufactured material to company quality standards. Train manufacturing personnel to uphold quality standards. Collaborate with teams to define and implement robust process controls and error‑proofing solutions. Investigate nonconforming material, determine root causes, and present findings to vendors and production lines in a well‑documented format. Spend 80%+ of time working independently in a plant manufacturing setting. Perform additional duties and overtime as required, typically limited to Monday‑Friday. Work effectively in both group and individual settings. Visually inspect parts and distinguish conforming from nonconforming parts per guidelines. Make independent decisions and support them with documentation. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, departments, and vendors. Multi‑task and manage stressful situations; prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines. Perform necessary mathematical calculations. Demonstrate a strong commitment toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Preferred: Knowledge of Window Quality specifications. Preferred: Knowledge of Home Construction. Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 2–5 years of quality or manufacturing experience in a non‑electronics/non‑food setting. Experience using measuring equipment (tape measure required; calipers preferred). Basic knowledge of inspection equipment and reading technical drawings. Understanding of quality systems and tolerances (+/‑ passible defects, etc.). Strong interest in process improvement and problem solving. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Intermediate level English reading, writing, and speaking. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 2–5 years of quality or manufacturing experience in a non‑electronics/non‑food setting. Experience using measuring equipment (tape measure required; calipers preferred). Basic knowledge of inspection equipment and reading technical drawings.
