Technical Sales Account Executive

Borin Manufacturing

Job Description Job Description BORIN Manufacturing is a global leader in cathodic protection and corrosion monitoring. We sell products that help protect critical infrastructure—pipelines, bridges, and energy plants—from deteriorating. We are seeking a high-caliber Technical Sales Manager who possesses a rare blend of sophisticated sales strategy and an interest in technical products, like instrumentation systems.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Complex Sales Cycles: Lead the sales process for high-value infrastructure projects, navigating long lead times (6–12 months) and multiple stakeholders.
Consultative Engineering: Act as a technical advisor to clients, helping them select the correct Remote Monitoring solution systems based on their needs.
Strategic Account Management: Manage and grow a global portfolio of distributors and direct accounts in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Water, and Infrastructure sectors.
Technical Evangelism: Conduct technical "Lunch & Learns" for engineering firms to ensure BORIN products are specified in the early design phases of major projects.
Market Analysis: Translate field feedback into actionable data to help our R&D team steer the next generation of corrosion monitoring technology.

The Requirements

Sales Expertise: High
Proven Track Record: 5+ years of B2B sales experience in a technical industry (e.g., industrial manufacturing, instrumentation, utilities, or aerospace).
Strategic Prospecting: Expertise in identifying and reaching "Specifying Engineers"—the people who write the technical requirements for projects.
Negotiation: Comfortable navigating complex contracts, international shipping logistics, and multi-layered procurement processes.

Technical Knowledge: Mid/High
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree.
Technical Literacy: Aptitude and willingness to acquire an in-depth knowledge of our companys electronic and electrochemical products and services, and their application in the corrosion prevention industry. Ability to read technical specifications and customer requirements to discuss with our technical team.

Core Attributes
Curiosity: A natural desire to understand "how things work".
Independence: The ability to manage a large territory with minimal supervision.
Communication: Elite verbal and written skills; you can explain the benefits of our products to a field technician, an Engineer, or a CEO at one of our customers.

Travel
The Technical Sales Manager is on the road 50% of the time in and out of state, traveling to industry conferences, trade shows, and customer sites. And meets with the management team in Los Angeles, California, once a month.
