Diagnostic Radiologist (MD/DO) Locum Tenens Opportunity Illinois Onsite Diagnostic Radiology Coverage Ongoing Need Through September 2026

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Diagnostic Radiologists for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Illinois. This assignment is focused on helping reduce a significant outpatient imaging backlog while supporting inpatient and emergency department imaging needs across two hospital locations.

• Start Date: June 2026
• Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
• Commitment: Approximately 20 Shifts Per Month
• Schedule:
  • Weekdays: 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Weekends: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
• Setting: Hospital-Based Diagnostic Radiology
• Onsite Requirement: 100% Onsite Coverage (No Remote/Teleradiology)
• Credentialing: Cross-Credentialing Required at Both Facilities

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking multiple Diagnostic Radiologists to provide onsite coverage across two Illinois medical centers. The primary need is to help address an outpatient imaging backlog of more than 800 studies while maintaining timely interpretation services for inpatient and emergency department imaging.

Providers will be credentialed and expected to work at both facilities to ensure continuous radiology coverage.

• Interpretation of general diagnostic radiology studies including:
  • CT
  • MRI
  • Ultrasound
  • X-Ray
  • Fluoroscopy
• Perform light procedures including:
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Paracentesis
  • Thoracentesis
• Provide timely reads for:
  • Outpatient Imaging
  • Inpatient Imaging
  • Emergency Department Studies
• Communicate critical findings to ordering providers when appropriate
• Support quality, efficiency, and patient-centered care initiatives
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting within Epic

• Approximately reads per shift
• Focus on reducing existing outpatient imaging backlog
• Collaborative team environment with multiple providers covering both sites

• EMR: Epic

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
• Active Illinois Medical License
• Illinois DEA
• Illinois CSR
• ACLS Certification
• Minimum One Year Experience
• IMLC Candidates Accepted
• Must be willing to work onsite at both facilities
• Remote or teleradiology-only candidates will not be considered
